Guess the Footballer

Every club he played for, in order. Name the player in six guesses.

The game

Endless

Streak0

Each wrong guess shows whether the answer has the same nationality and position, and whether he is older or younger.

How to play

Read the career from the top: the first club he played for, every move after it, and the club he is at now. Spells marked Loan were loans. Type a name, pick the player from the list, and see how close you were.

The daily footballer is the same for everyone and changes at midnight. Endless mode deals a new player every time you finish one, and does not repeat players you have just had.

Questions people ask

How does Guess the Footballer work?
You see a player's club career, oldest club first, with the years at each one and his loans marked. Type a name and pick him from the list. You have six guesses.
What do the chips under a wrong guess mean?
They compare your guess with the answer. A green chip means a match: the same nationality, the same position, or born the same year. The arrow on the birth year says whether the answer is older or younger than your guess. A shared club means your guess also played for one of the clubs on the path.
When does the daily footballer change?
At midnight on your device. Everyone playing on the same date gets the same career path.
Which players are in the game?
Around 340 footballers, current stars and legends, from the same pool as our football imposter mode. Only players with at least three clubs are used, so the path always has something to go on.
Where do the careers come from?
Wikidata, the free database behind Wikipedia. Youth and reserve sides count as clubs where Wikidata lists them, which is why Barcelona B can appear before Barcelona. National teams are left out.
Do I need the full name?
No. Start typing any part of the name and pick the player from the list. A surname on its own works when only one player in the game has it.
