0/3How this quiz works
14 countries, and after Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Papua New Guinea almost nobody can name the rest without help.
The ten that decide it are Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. Learn those ten and you have the continent.
When the clock runs out, or when you give up, every country you missed is revealed.
Questions people ask
- How many countries are there in Oceania?
- 14 sovereign states. Territories such as French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Guam and the Cook Islands are not UN member states and are not included.
- Can I change the timer?
- Yes. Pick 3, 5, 10 or 15 minutes before you start, or choose Count up — that mode has no limit and the clock stops the moment you get the last one, so it doubles as a speedrun timer. Your choice is remembered for next time.
- Does spelling have to be exact?
- Capitals, spaces, hyphens, punctuation and accents are all ignored, so “png” matches Papua New Guinea and “micronesia” matches the Federated States of Micronesia. Where one answer is the start of another, the shorter one waits for Enter so the longer one stays typeable.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to install, no ads in the way of the board. Your best score is kept in your own browser and never leaves your device.
