How this quiz works

The complete Kalos regional dex: 72 species, National Dex 650 (Chespin) through 721 (Volcanion). It is the smallest generation, which makes it the friendliest of the dex quizzes to finish.

The starters and the six Legendaries are quick. The rest splits into the memorable ones — Greninja, Sylveon, Aegislash, Goodra — and a long tail of single-stage Pokemon that almost nobody recalls cold.

Mega Evolutions are not separate species, so Mega Charizard is not an answer; Charizard belongs to Kanto.

When the clock runs out, or when you give up, every Pokemon you missed is revealed.

Questions people ask

How many Pokemon are in the Kalos dex?

72 — every Generation VI species, National Dex 650 through 721. That makes Kalos the smallest generation, well under half the size of the Alola dex.

Can I change the timer?

Yes. Pick 3, 5, 10 or 15 minutes before you start, or choose Count up — that mode has no limit and the clock stops the moment you get the last one, so it doubles as a speedrun timer. Your choice is remembered for next time.

Does spelling have to be exact?

Capitals, spaces, hyphens, punctuation and accents are all ignored, so “Flabébé” is accepted as “flabebe”. Where one answer is the start of another, the shorter one waits for Enter so the longer one stays typeable.

Do Mega Evolutions count?

No. A Mega Evolution is a temporary form of an existing Pokemon rather than a new species, so Mega Lucario and Mega Gardevoir are not answers. Only Generation VI species are.
