Anime Imposter Game: 100 Characters, 70 Series

This mode turns anime characters, series, powers, and rivalries into a focused one-phone imposter game for secret-word rounds. Crew players see the exact answer, while the imposter sees a blank screen or an optional hint and has to bluff through careful clues. It runs free in the browser with no download, no accounts, adjustable players, imposter settings, discussion, voting, and quick rematches for anime fans, manga readers, and groups that know character names.

Anime word list and settings

Choose between a top 50 list for casual groups and the full list of 100 names spanning seventy series.

Selected list: Top 100 anime characters

Names in this list: 100Total words: 100

Active anime word list: Top 100 anime characters

Total words: 100

Built to stay fair across series

No series contributes more than three characters, so a round never turns into a quiz about one show. Someone who only watches shonen and someone who only watches Ghibli both get a fair chance.

Anime Imposter Game Rules and Strategy

This mode is built for one-phone pass-and-play rounds, using 100 characters that most groups will recognise.

  • Crew players see the exact secret name.
  • Imposters see one subtle hint when hint mode is on.
  • Each player gives one short clue without saying the name or the series.
  • After discussion, vote out the player you think is bluffing.
  • If an imposter survives the vote, they can steal the round by saying the name.

Best Settings for 3-20 Players

3-6 players

One imposter with hints on. The top 50 list keeps the first few rounds friendly.

7-12 players

Two imposters and the full 100 list. Who speaks first matters more in a bigger circle.

Mixed viewing habits

Stay on the top 50 and leave hints on. It rewards the group that watches less.

Anime club night

Full 100 with hints off. Deep cuts from seventy series make the bluffing much harder.

Anime Mode FAQ

Who is in the word list?

One hundred characters from seventy series, from Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon through to Chainsaw Man, Frieren and Dandadan.

Do I need to watch a lot of anime?

No. The top 50 list sticks to names most people recognise, and imposter hints describe traits rather than plot.

Is one series going to dominate a round?

No. At most three characters come from any single series, so the list stays spread out.

What if we only want one series?

Use the dedicated Naruto or One Piece modes instead. Those go deep on a single cast.

Mode guide

How to get better rounds with anime characters, series, powers, and rivalries

This mode focuses the imposter game on anime characters, series, powers, and rivalries, which gives every player a clear theme before the first clue is spoken. It is especially useful for anime fans, manga readers, and groups that know character names, because the group can start discussing fast without needing a long rules explanation.

For the first round, keep the setup simple: one imposter, short private reveals, and clues that point toward the answer without naming it. The strongest clues usually use team, power, relationship, arc, or catchphrase clues, so crew members sound helpful while imposters still have room to bluff.

Replay works best when the group changes the starting player, mixes easy and hard clues, and talks through suspicious answers before voting. If a round feels too obvious, turn off the hint or raise the difficulty; if it feels too hard, use the hint and ask for more concrete clues.

Best group fit

Built for anime fans, manga readers, and groups that know character names, with quick setup on a single phone.

Clue approach

A balanced round works when players use team, power, relationship, arc, or catchphrase clues.

Replay tip

Rotate who gives the first clue so the same player is not always under pressure.
